Opening Remarks and Leading in Times of Disruption: A Manufacturing Perspective

Some say a crisis brings out the best in leaders. They set aside trivial grievances, band together for a shared purpose, and focus on helping others. But beneath the strategic choices and genuine concern is fear, uncertainty, and exhaustion. Leaders must redistribute disrupted supply chains, enable a remote workforce, safeguard essential employees, and break bad news to employees -- all while maintaining their own energy so they can continue to inspire and motivate. This panel of NAPA members will share insights on the near and long-term impacts of the uncertainty and change related to the COVID-19 pandemic. These leaders will address some of the most pressing questions of the moment and share lessons learned including how they are forming their strategies as we head into another time of transition. What are the anticipated short-, medium-, and long-term impacts and actions? How will “business as usual” look going forward?
